CABINETS! ⠀ ⠀ Custom built cabinets VS shop bu CABINETS! ⠀ ⠀ Custom built cabinets VS shop built cabinets. ⠀ ⠀ Custom cabinets are built on site, they fit perfect because they were built to the actual size of the wall. Custom cabinets are exactly what they sound like... CUSTOM and can be made how ever the client wants or built to match that killer Pinterest picture. Most people think $ bigger expinse when they think custom cabinets. That is typcally true and very much so depends on the craftsman (trim carpenter) and the actual cabinet you were trying to make, the type of wood, etc. ⠀ ⠀ Shop built cabinets are great as well, they typically come preassembled and ready to hang on the walls the trim carpenter simply lined them up with the place they are allocated and it screws them into the wall making sure that their level. A lot of times the Trim Carpenter will also add little details to the cabinets to make them look like custom cabinets and look like they were not built in a shop and brought out on site. ⠀ These cabinets can be less expensive in some aspects but that variable comes from the cabinet maker how many mistakes were made upon delivery how beat up the cabinets get in the vehicle on the way to the house and how much work is needed to make sure they don't look like shop built cabinets. ⠀ ⠀ Another factor to consider is that we are all human and we change our minds once you have set the cabinets up on a template with a cabinet company that is building them in the shop and bring them out on site it is typically hard to change your mind. If you build custom cabinets you can go to the job site take a look at the piece that is being applied to the cabinet and adjust accordingly. ⠀ ⠀ We have a great Trim Carpenter and a great relationship with the Trim Carpenter therefore we continue to do custom built cabinets in every project.
